We’re here once again! Taking the redeye to Nadi from Los Angeles really is the best way to go IF you can sleep on the plane which is something I only seem able to do on return trips home. Oh well, I closed my eyes eight of the 10 ½ hours, so that must count for something. We land at Nadi and meet up with our driver Sammy. He takes us on a beautiful two hour drive to Pacific Harbor with a pitstop in Sigatoka for coffee. Elizabeth, our grammy-nominated music teacher takes advantage of the opportunity to sing with the coffee shop entertainers. We arrive around ten in the morning and ease our jetlag the best way possible; a swim in the ocean of course! Pure tropical bliss. Now we’re off to a barbeque with some locals who support our teaching here. They’re feeding us and we’re bringing our games, so I guess it’s an even trade. Our hosts are Mark and Sue, their daughter Tashi and her husband Tony, who happens to be a chef. We sit on their gorgeous deck built on a river going straight to the ocean just in front of us. After some great storytelling and an amazing meal, we go to watch fire dancers. We meet some very entertaining Aussies, and some fascinating business people from Papua New Guinea who tell us all about their abundant natural resources. There is so much to learn when coming so far to the other side of the world. But first, we go off to meet with the other side of our pillows- we’re tired, and have a big week ahead of us on Beqa. Sa Moce!
